Florida Harm Reduction Initiative’s primary focus is preventing drug related harm and its social impact by meeting people where they are at. FHRI engages with the community by distribution of Narcan, clean-use materials, and fentanyl test strips as well as overdose prevention, recognition and response training all at no cost to anyone in need
Narcan
FHRI provides the 4mg intranasal spray of Naloxone with the brand name Narcan which is administered in the event of an overdose to enable to the person to breathe, be revived and to LIVE.
There is no cost to the community
Fentanyl Test Strips
FHRI provides fentanyl test strips which are used to test drugs so the drug user will know if there is fentanyl present before using the drug. There are many different viewpoints on these, but we provide them anyway and leave you to make your own decision.
Training
FHRI provides in-person and virtual Overdose Prevention, Recognition and Response training to anyone who is interested in learning strategies to prevent an overdose, how to know an overdose is occurring, and how to respond. In-person trainings are only conducted in Tallahassee and Jupiter, Florida. Virtual trainings are conducted by zoom.
